About the CEO

Melony Catana, AScT, is a registered professional technologist with the Applied Science Technologists and Technicians and of British Columbia (ASTTBC) and a Qualified Environmental Professional (QEP). She has 7 years of corporate project management and consulting experience in all sectors. She is educated in natural resource management and has 13 years of experience, encompassing all phases of landscape operations.

Melony is practical, friendly and down-to-earth. She communicates technical information in plain English, understanding that this is what her clients need. She takes a collaborative approach to problem solving, engaging her clients and the project team to develop custom solutions for each project.

As former 'tom-boy' that grew up on a farm, she is mechanically inclined and no stranger hard work. This has enabled her to be approachable on the job-site, become knowledgeable of construction practices, and contribute practicable and meaningful solutions, on site and at planning stages.

After years of working for a large consulting firm, Melony observed that the complex layers of corporate operations were not only cumbersome and confusing for her clients but also prohibitive of responsiveness and innovation, on the company's part. The general consensus among her peers was that 'all large firms are like that'. So she decided that the best way to serve her clients better and have the freedom to innovate was if she started her own company. She is happy she did - she loves it.

Melony lives with her husband and 3 year-old son in Kelowna, BC. She and her family enjoy travelling, the outdoors, and participating in a variety of sports. Melony is enthusiastic about cooking, art, gardening, yoga and environmental awareness.
